Wade & Allison Dotson
December 2006 Dear Stateside Friends, After 12 weeks back on the field, we are glad to report that much has been accomplished. So much has happened that it seems like more than almost three months. First, Daniel has finished his first semester at Crown and at this reading is back in Georgia with Wade’s family. Several problems have been dealt with at both churches, one of which resulted in the exclusion of Brother Joao, because of his bad testimony. His wife Elizabeth continues to attend and even he has returned for a service, as we had hoped. Rodrigo, 23 years old, from Anchor followed the Lord in believer’s baptism, as did 48-year-old Shirley from the second work. Christian is conducting guitar lessons at the second work, where attendance is growing. Our last few services have been full, with more than 40 present. Anchor Baptist celebrated its tenth year of existence with special services and a visiting missionary that the second work will soon begin supporting. The missionary is a Brazilian church planter in the neighboring state of Minas Gerais. Recently, our pastor (Wade’s dad) has been the only one contributing to the purchase of land for the second work, for whose generosity we are very thankful. The falling dollar has us still owing $13,000. Luciana and her mother Luciene are from northern Brazil and were recently saved in their home. They attend Anchor and are zealously doing weekly Bible studies. Fifty-seven year old Maria was saved three weeks ago but has yet to attend church. Another couple plans to marry in order to be baptized ASAP! Recent contacts have given us opportunities to witness to Mormons, Church of Christ, Foursquare Gospel, and Universal Kingdom of God, among others. Pray that His Word would have free course! Last, pray for Celinda who has just trusted Christ. She has been aglow ever since! She was initially reluctant to trust the Lord because of her job as a receptionist at a local discotheque. Wade explained that if she was truly repentant she would not want to collaborate with evil in any way. Led of the Spirit she made her decision to the glory of God! Celinda is the 73-year-old mother of one of our church members. Each of us wishes you and your family a blessed Christmas! We are praying for you and desire your prayers as we will miss Daniel greatly this year. However, the peace of God fills our hearts to know that we are in the Lord’s perfect will!
