Dear Friends,

Christian greetings from Texas. We have been enjoying some much needed rain, the last few weeks and even a few snow flurries in April. The weekend of Easter, we had some snow flurries a couple of times. It reminded us of our Church planting days in Canada.

Speaking of Church planting, we have finally found a place to meet, temporarily. We had hoped to start the end of March or the first of April but have had great difficulty in finding a place to meet. We found out that there was a city ordinance in Allen preventing us from using most of the store fronts we looked at for Church services. Then the man that owned a small office building we had been talking to, backed out of his agreement at the last minute and then a woman that owned a day care, doubled the rent she wanted, also at the last minute.

Thankfully, the Lord has opened the door for us to meet at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Allen. We will be using the conference room to get started and as we grow we will begin looking for a more suitable and affordable place to meet. Our first service will be Sunday, June 3. Please pray that we will have a full room and see many souls saved.

We are having about 10,000 Romans booklets printed and will be distributing them prior to our first service. We also have about 2,500 John/Romans booklets that we brought back from Canada. We will have new covers made for them and distribute at the same time. Our home church, Open Door Baptist Church, Mesquite, TX, is having several thousand tracts printed for us, for use in door to door visitation.

Many of the members of Open Door have told us of family, friends and coworkers that live in Allen. We are compiling a list of contacts and will be visiting these people in the days and weeks to come. Pray that as we do, those who are not saved will be saved and that those who are saved will be led to join Maranatha Baptist Church of Allen, TX.

We greatly appreciate your continued prayer and financial support. This church in Allen, TX could not be a reality without each of you. May God bless you for your help in planting this church in our "Samaria" (Acts 1:8).
